Description: This trip, which takes you through the mountainous region of northern Laos for a truly unique experience to come face with ethnic minoritiy hill trebles. We will take you to distant hill tribe’s villages and see cottage industries and bartering in local markets. Primal rainforests, waterfalls, unusual rock formations and worshiping stones are just some of the scenic wonder waiting to be discovered. Included with your package is five days in Luang Prabang – enough time to appreciate the charm and tranquility of this hillside setting. Other highlights include Vientiane, Pakse and the ancient Khmer Temple of Wat Phou.

Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival Vientiane On arrival Wattay airport, you will be met and transferred to our centrally located hotel. After refreshment, we start visiting the major sights of the capital, including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxai which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomple. Day 02: Vientiane – Nam Ngum (road and boat) Drive to Nam Ngum Lake ( 80km ). On the way visit the salt distillation by traditional method at Ban Keun. Arrival Nam Ngum Lake, boat trip for one hour, esploring the beautiful island. Return to Vientiane (B/L/D)
Day 03: Vientiane - Vang Vieng (B/L/D) Drive to Vang Vieng (150km) on the national road No.13, visit to the caves Tam Chang and the villages in the other side of the Nam Song River. Visit the temples, overnight in the best available Nam Song hotel or similar in Vang Vieng (B/L/D)
Day 04: Vang Vieng – Luang Prabang (road) An early morning, start to drive to Luang Prabang, which is perhaps the best traditional city in Southeast Asia. The road conditions are very pool, however the unequalled scenery with a misture of ateep terraced fields and hill tribe villages make for an interesting journey. After check-in hotel, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Mai. We then climb up to the top of Phousi Hill for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. Day 05: Luang Prabang (road) Sightseeing Luang Prabang, visit the Museum housed in the Former Royal Palace, visit wat Xieng Thong, the royal temple the most beautifull in Luang Prabang. Visit wat Sene, wat Visounnalat, wat Hoxieng, wat Phoutthbath Tai. Overnight in Luang Prabang (B/L/S)
Day 06: Luang Prabang (road and boat) Cruise on the Mekong River to Pak Ou, the influence between the Mekong and the Nma Ou River. Visit the caves and the rice wine fermented village at Ban Sang Khong. Overnight in Luang Prabang (B/L/D)
Day 07: Luang Prabang (road) Transfer to Ban Long Lao, the Hmong village. Full day trek through the rice field, the forest, visit the Kuangsi waterfall and the viilage surrounding. After visit, transfer back to hotel.
Day 08: Luang Prabang (road) Trekking on the other side of the Mekong at Ban Chiang Men, visit wat Long Khoune, trek to Ban Chane, the pottery village, and visit the caves. Return to hotel for the night (B/L/D)
Day 09: Luang Prabang – Xieng Khouang (by air and road) Transfer to airport for flight to Xieng Thong, upon arrival, visit the Plain of Jars No.1 in Phonsavanh. Overnight in Phosavanh at Phou Pa Deng hotel or similar (B/L/D)
Day 10: Xieng Khoang (road) Visit the Plain of Jars No 2 at Salato and No.3 at Kai and That Four stupa. Overnight in Phou Pa Deng hotel or similar (B/L/D)
Day 11: Xieng Khouang – Sam Neua (road) Drive Sam Neua (250km). On the way visit the cave Tam Piou, the Hmong viilages along the road. Overnight in the best available guesthouse (B/L/D) Day 12: Sam Neua – Vieng Xay (road) Drive to Vieng Xay (60km), the former head quarter of Laos Revolutionary. Visit the caves of Laos leaders during American war. Return to Sam Neua, overnight in the best available gesthouse (B/L/D)
Day 13: Sam Neua – Vientiane (by air and road) Flight back to Vientiane, meet and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure or do shopping. Overnight in Vientiane (B/-/-)
Day 14: Departure (by air) Leisure at your own until time transfer to the airport for your departure flight (B/-/-)
